Sources of Knowledge
Knowledge is drawn from a variety of sources in human experiences. The following are the different sources of knowledge -
1. Sensory Experience
Sensory experience is the main source of knowledge. Every person has five senses and knowledge is drawn through these five senses. This knowledge is based on practical aspects and thus this knowledge is permanent. One can feel the sensory results.
2. Experiments
Man draws knowledge while making experiments either under controlled situation or otherwise. This knowledge is related to the natural activity of the life. It provides true knowledge to us. It is the scientific method for knowing the facts. It may need the different types of laboratories.
3. Intuition
This knowledge is produced through the inner conscious of a person. It may also be called as the voice of mind. It tells the real experiences at one's life. It's area is out of five senses. It is not easily known. It can only be felt. All persons at different points of time may experience it.
4. Authority
This type of knowledge comes from an authority or a specialist in a particular field of knowledge. Truths are found from different authorities. A teacher for a learner is an authority. So, learner accepts the teacher as a great source of knowledge.
5. Revelation
This knowledge is based upon religious beliefs. It is based on spiritual aspects rather than physical environment. Nobody can deny these facts. It is not changeable. All the religious scriptures of the world are the result of this knowledge.
6. Reasoning
This type of knowledge is functioning of mind to imagine, think and reason out. It depends upon wisdom and activity. It includes two methods inductive and deductive. The facts are created through reasoning power. The work is done for getting the reality of facts.
7. Other sources
Human beings also gain knowledge directly or indirectly from various sources. These sources are nature inspiration for our practical life and media.
Thus, it can be said that these sources are the true sources of knowledge. Knowledge is the basis of human life. There is no end of knowledge. It is complete in itself. It is considered the strongest pillar of human life. It is just like light which removes the darkness from our life.
