About

Hi, I am Gaurav Deswal. I'm a proud alumnus of Sainik School Kunjpura Karnal, also known as a Kunjeyan (batch 2009-16, Kurukshetra House, #5853). Currently, I work as a Postal Assistant in the Department of Posts, Ministry of Communication, Govt of India. While my dream is to be a teacher, this role allows me to serve the community and interact with people from different backgrounds. I consider myself a lifelong learner, always wanting to learn something new and keep expanding my skills.

Growing up in a small village of Haryana, I was surrounded by the warmth and love of my elder sister and my parents who are both teachers. Their dedication to teaching gave me a strong desire to work for the people and contributing towards the betterment of society. After completing my primary education I prepared for the All India Sainik School Entrance Exam (AISSEE) and in 2009, after securing 2nd rank, I joined the grand Sainik School at Kunjpura in Class 6. Thus began my journey at the age of 10 years, away from the comfort of my home and family.

One of the most significant discoveries during my school years was my natural ability to explain complex concepts into simple and easy language. I particularly enjoyed explaining the topics of mathematics and science to my classmates, thus motivating me to pursue a career in education. This passion for teaching wasn't restricted only to the classroom. My family background further helped me in this aspiration. My grandfather served as a headmaster, and both my parents are teachers. Witnessing their dedication and the positive impact they had on their students was very inspiring.

My time at Sainik School had the transformative impact on me. While academics was a priority, Sainik School encouraged towards my holistic development. I actively participated in various extracurricular activities. There I played Tennis, Chess and Badminton, participated in cross country running, and was also a part of the Craft Club

Speaking in the school assemblies helped me in developing my public speaking skills and improving my confidence. Additionally, participating in the National Cadet Corps (NCC) honed my leadership skills. I excelled in marksmanship with a .22 rifle, was also a part of the Guard of Honour ceremony for the Commanding Officer and received NCC 'A' and 'B' certificates. These experiences not only broadened my skillset but also gave me a sense of camaraderie and teamwork.

Following my time at Sainik School, I pursued a Bachelor of Science degree from PT. NRS Govt. College Rohtak, Haryana in 2020. This was followed by a Bachelor of Education from Jhajjar, Haryana in 2022, a deliberate step towards my teaching aspirations. My dedication further translated into qualifying the CTET Paper 1 and Paper 2 exams (2021), along with the HTET Level 2 exams for both Mathematics (2021) and Science (2022). I loved my time in school and college where I made some lifelong friends.

As my journey towards becoming a government teacher required patience and perseverance, while pursuing my education, I prepared for various competitive exams to gain valuable government service experience. During this time I qualified SSC CGL Prelims (2021, 2021, 2022), SSC CHSL 2021, and SSC MTS 2020. Additionally, I also qualified other exams such as the Coast Guard Written Exam (2018), Airforce Y Group (2018), IMU-CET for Merchant Navy (2019) and Haryana CET 2022.

Finally, in August 2023, I joined the Department of Posts as a Postal Assistant through the CHSL 2021 exam. Currently, I'm stationed at Udayagiri SO, Nellore, Andhra Pradesh. My role at the Department of Posts has been an enriching experience. Here I got the opportunity to work in various departments, including Mails, Banking, Treasury, and even fulfilled the role of an acting Sub Postmaster. Additionally, I received the ECMP Operator cum Supervisor Certificate from UIDAI during this service.

This diverse experience has been invaluable in honing my public communication and customer service skills. Interacting with people from diverse backgrounds has broadened my perspective and appreciation for different cultures, religions, and languages. Moreover, my role as a Public Service provider resonates deeply with my desire to serve the community and contribute to the nation.

I was the topper of 19th Online Induction Training Batch of PAs. Currently, I am eagerly waiting for my June 2024 259th Offline Induction Training at PTC Mysore. My passion for teaching still remains undimmed. And to further this goal, I'm actively preparing for the DSSSB TGT exam.

While my professional life is very fulfilling, I prioritize a healthy work-life balance. Spending quality time with family and friends is an essential source of my happiness.  Whether it's delving into a captivating book, engaging in a friendly game, or simply catching up on the latest technological advancements, I find ways to unwind and recharge.

I believe that education should be free and accessible to everyone. It empowers individuals, fosters innovations, and creates the path for a brighter future. I am creating this website as a platform to share experiences, exchange ideas, and to explore potential collaborations.
